About Us

The United Anglo Caribbean Society was established in October 1971 by a group of West Indians who saw the need to eliminate discrimination and to promote equality of opportunity and good relations between the indigenous community and the people of Caribbean / African descent.

The founders of the Society aim was to improve the quality of life for Black people in general as well as increasing their awareness and understanding of their history and culture with a hope of enabling them to establish a solid foundation in Britain for future development. As time passed the work of UACS became focused on a service to older people and to homeless young Black people.

The society now has four existing projects since receiving funding in 2003 for two other schemes.
