What is Housing Advice & Resettlement Scheme (HARS)?
HARS was originally set up in 2003 to help single homeless people in the Borough of Ealing. Since 2008 the scheme has been extended to four other London Boroughs, Brent, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow.
The aim of the scheme is to assist homeless people aged 18 and over especially
- The Black & minority ethnic community
- People fleeing domestic violence
- Ex-offenders/people leaving prison
- People with mental health issues
- Those affected by Drug and Alcohol misuse
The support that HARS provides are:
- Weekly Housing Advice & Resettlement surgeries.
- Information on housing options within the 5 boroughs.
- Help to identify and obtain the appropriate move-on accommodation.
- Assistance with claiming Welfare benefits.
- Support for other housing related services, i.e. referrals to housing providers and floating support.
An appointment must be obtained.

The Housing Advisor will contact you to arrange for the following:
- Assess your Housing Needs
- Agree a Housing Advice & Resettlement Plan
- Provide on-going support
Who can access the scheme?
- Single people
- People who are threatened with homelessness
- People in need of housing support services
- People living within the boroughs of Ealing, Brent, Harrow, Hillingdon and Houslow
Who cannot access the scheme?
- Couples
- Families
- Lone Parents
- People aged under 18 years
